Eastpoint is a non-denominational church that exists to help you Know God, Find Freedom, Engage Community, and Share Your Story. We are all about relationships and believe God wants a personal relationship with you and that it is possible to experience Him in fresh new ways. Eastpoint is a growing community of people with many opportunities for build relationships no matter where you are on your faith journey. It is our hope that you feel at home and know that you are welcome here.
Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus who share him with others.
Scott Taube is the founding and lead pastor of Eastpoint Christian Church. In March of 2004, Eastpoint launched in a South Portland cinema and has invited thousands of people to explore their faith in God. Many across the Greater Portland region have decided to follow Jesus, found that it’s possible to know him and our Father God, and experience life-giving community through the church.
In May of 2017 Eastpoint opened a community center called The Point where we currently hold our services as well as offer a full-service community center with a gym, indoor soccer field, playscape, café and numerous break-out rooms. The Point is a gift to Greater Portland to welcome the community we serve and love. Relationships have been the hallmark of Eastpoint’s existence and The Point creates a great bridge for that to happen.
The other piece of Eastpoint that never stops growing is our outreach to the various communities in which we live. We have engaged with multiple organizations throughout Greater Portland to come along-side of them and serve with them. Everyone who is part of Eastpoint is encouraged to serve in their community. It’s another bridge creating relationships, opening opportunities to share the love and saving grace of Jesus.
Scott and his wife Beth have three daughters who are married, as well as several grandchildren. The vision for reaching more people for Jesus is a passionate part of Scott’s heart along with the elders and amazing staff team that God has blessed Eastpoint with.
