    Lead Pastor, Elder

As a freshman in high school, I sensed God’s call on my life to be in ministry. I attended Cincinnati Christian University from 1981-1985, where God also introduced me to Beth, now my wife of 31 years. After graduation, we served in the Central Ohio area for 18 years. We are blessed with three beautiful girls who love and follow Jesus, and were willing to move to Portland, Maine to plant a new church in 2003. In March of 2004, we launched Eastpoint Christian Church and have looked back only long enough to be grateful for all that God has allowed us to do and see and for the many lives changed by Jesus. I have much hope in my heart for the number of lives God is going to touch in the days ahead! I am richly blessed with family, a great team of elders, and an amazing staff to share ministry with!

I have been attending Eastpoint since 2005. It has been amazing to watch how God has grown His church and impacted the community of Greater Portland since then. My wife, Wendy, and I have 3 grown children who all live in the Portland area. Prior to joining the Eastpoint staff, I worked in the healthcare field as an administrator for both insurance companies and physician practices. I am thrilled to be part of the Eastpoint team filling the role of Executive Pastor, helping the church to manage the business aspects of ministry.

I've been attending Eastpoint since they very beginning of the church and have served as an elder most of that time. My wife, Lisa, and I moved to Maine from Minnesota in 1984 after graduating from St. Cloud State University to take a job with Konica Photo Imaging where I worked for 21 years. We have two children and began attending church again. God then directed my path to The Root Cellar where I served as Director for 8 years. I'm very excited in my role here at Eastpoint as we purpose to mobilize our church to see transformation in the city.

While growing up at Eastpoint, I sensed God's call on my life to pastoral ministry. From 2009-2013, I studied Biblical Studies at Colorado Christian University. During my time in college, God introduced me to Amanda. Upon graduation, we got married, and it has been such a joy to journey together and serve alongside one another ever since. We have a baby daughter, Hannah, who is an absolute joy to us. From 2013-2015, I studied for my Master of Divinity at Denver Seminary while serving on staff at a church in Littleton, CO, overseeing the middle school and college ministries. Once I graduated from seminary in 2015, I came on staff at Eastpoint. I am thrilled to be a part of the team. By God's grace, may I be a disciple who makes disciples, who make disciples.

Growing up here in Maine, I developed a deep passion for the spiritual state of the people in Greater Portland. God has called me to help others wrestle with doubts, faith questions, and to experience the freedom, purpose and passion that only comes through a deep and genuine relationship with Jesus Christ. In order to fulfill this calling, I went to Johnson University in Knoxville, TN, where I received a BA in Church Leadership and Preaching. I also have a Master of Divinity from Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. I am crazy about my wife, Magdalyn. I also enjoy hiking, snowboarding, frisbee golf, and many more things.

    Children’s Ministry Pastor

I have been coming to Eastpoint since the fall of 2005. I consider it a privilege to serve and feel like giving back in any way I can. I went to the University of Maine in Orono for Elementary Education, never knowing that almost 20 years later it would be used for God's glory. I live in Westbrook with my wife Debi, her 2 children (Noah and Sydney) and my daughter (Hannah, in the summer as she lives in Florida during the school year). In order to be more like Jesus, who was here to serve rather than be served, it's the one thing I can do.

Jumping into the Children’s Ministry that autumn as a Small Group Leader only marked the beginning of a grand adventure here. I serve on the Moms’ Ministry Leadership Team, and came on staff as Early Childhood Director in the spring of 2017. I am excited to see what plans God has for the children and families of Greater Portland!

I am originally from New Jersey, where I studied Animation at Ramapo College. In 2014, I married my wife Valerie and immediately after getting married we moved to Maine and soon began attending Eastpoint. It was here in Maine that I started my professional film career and paired it with my passion for the outdoors and sports, working as an adventure sports videographer. Like a true millennial, my work needs to be something I am passionate and excited about. This makes working at Eastpoint and serving God my dream job and I look forward to continuing growing this passion. In 2019, Valerie and I welcomed our first child, Colton, into our family.

    Director of The Point

"Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth, it always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres..." 1 Corinthians 13:6-7 I grew up in Central Maine and have made a really cool journey back to Maine after a big adventure in NYC! To summarize, I followed my career aspirations to NYC over a decade ago and built a successful career in the fashion industry. While NYC became home to me, about 5 years ago I felt God gently nudging me to leave the busy, stressful, and competitive culture in NYC. So in another big move, I did what any woman would do and moved back to Maine to be a Lobster (person, I guess?) Person! After a summer of slinging lobsters I decided to take some time, simplify my life, seek God's purpose and plan for me, and took a job at Becky's Diner where I waitressed for the past 2.5 years. I have been attending Eastpoint since moving back to Maine and from my first Sunday, I just knew it was a special place. I am beyond humbled and blessed to work at The Point and be a part of what God is doing in our community! I just know it's going to be BIG and I cannot wait to see what He has in store!

I began attending Eastpoint with my family in 2013. I immediately started going Fusion (youth group) and had the privilege of attending all the way through my senior year. I graduated from Greater Portland Christian School in the spring 2017 and decided I wanted to continue my education at Southern Maine Community College where I am working to get an associates degree in Hospitality Management. In August of 2017 I started taking classes but felt God was calling me to join the Eastpoint Internship Program as well. I followed His call and began working at The Point under the direction of Don and Meredith for the next 9 months. In May of 2018 when the internship ended I was asked to stay on the team as a part time staff member taking the Guest Services Coordinator position. I enjoy being able to serve in this position and am beyond grateful for the opportunity to work so directly with the people that come through the building every day.
