Fishing, while simple in explanation, manifests itself in a variety of different practices and intentions. When Peter, Andrew, James and John were out fishing, Jesus introduced them to a new way of thinking about their profession. Instead of fishing for fish, they were to embark on a journey to catch people, not for pleasure, profit, or food, but for the Kingdom of God. Much like fishing for fish, fishing for people happens in a variety of different ways but the elements remain the same: intention, action, perseverance, hard work and consistency. If we are going to be a church who makes disciples who share their faith with others, we need to root ourselves in the practices that Jesus set forth for being Fishers of Men.

We feel that God has ignited in our church family a renewed desire to see this Greater Portland region transformed by His gospel.  On Sunday, September 19th we are gathering not only to worship but to begin a new chapter of seeing his Kingdom come here in Greater Portland through our church family.

After the worship services, we are inviting our entire church family as well as our neighbors around us to both celebrate all that He is doing as well as connect into our community in new ways! Join us for a fun filled afternoon as we launch into the fall!

Bring your family and friends for games, food trucks, bounce houses, face painting, balloon animals, prizes and more! We will also have the South Portland Police department offering a canine demonstration at 2pm and 3pm. This is a free event for the whole community!

We know, we know. It’s that time of year where schedules fill up and life gets busy with school, work, sports, you name it. But one thing we do know is how important community is.
So, we show up for each other. We depend on each other. We laugh, we cry, we walk through life together and we’d love for you to join us.
